Magnatherm Therapy

Magnatherm is a diathermy machine used to provide therapeutic heat deep into the body’s tissue, heating the body from the inside out. It applies penetrating electro-magnetic energy deep inside tissue, deeper with more heat than even ultrasound. It increases blood flow, improves oxygenation, and increases metabolic rate, with minimal skin surface heating.
Diathermy, which literally means “through heat” is a technique using high frequency energy to directly heat deep seated tissues and produce a therapeutic response. Diathermy was first used in 1907, but declined in use in the 1950’s with the advent of drug therapy.

Recently, it has been realized the deep therapeutic heat of diathermy is desirable without the side effects of drug therapy. This has led to a resurgence in diathermy use, with the Magnatherm the leader in this type of modality.
